Dimitrios Mallios

Dimitrios Mallios is a senior applied scientist working in the Applied Sciences Group (ASG) at Microsoft.  He works on model optimization and integration of machine-learning models on the chip by using automated machine-learning workflows.

Before joining ASG, he was doing extensive research in computer vision and deep learning in medical imaging, claims insurance, and the parking space area using imagery data considering all the use-case constraints and deployment environments.  He has participated in public machine-learning challenges, sealing top positions in data-science leaderboards.  Apart from A.I. and computer vision, he has been involved in projects related to robotics, high-performance and cluster computing.

Dimitrios is a member of the MLOps community learning the state of the art in automation of machine-learning pipelines.  He holds an M.Eng. in computer engineering and an M.Sc. in A.I. from the University of Southampton in the U.K.

In his free time, he enjoys doing sports activities and travelling, and when forced inside, he prefers to read books and watch documentaries.
