Johannes Imort is a 2022 research intern in the Applied Sciences Group (ASG) at Microsoft, where he is working on real-time speaker recognition and diarization.

He has a keen interest in audio signal processing, machine learning, acoustics, and music information retrieval.  Recently he finished his master’s thesis at RWTH Aachen University on nonlinear acoustic echo cancellation.  Previously, he worked at Sony as a research intern investigating music source separation and audio effect removal.

Alongside his professional activities, he is passionate about playing, producing, and listening to music.  Moreover, he regularly produced and directed videos for the WDR Big Band and worked with many international artists in this context.  As a nature lover, Johannes takes pleasure in hiking, cycling, and swimming.
