Robert Henzel is a 2021 research intern in the Applied Sciences Group (ASG) at Microsoft, where he is working on extending the audio-processing pipeline.  Previously he has worked on loudspeaker simulation tools and has researched simplified HRTF models as a student assistant at the Institute of Hearing Technologies and Technical Acoustics (IHTA) at RWTH Aachen University from 2016 to 2020.  He also has a keen interest in numerical and combinatorial optimization algorithms.

He is currently finishing his M.S. degree in information and communication technologies at RWTH Aachen University, where he received a M.S. in management, business, and economics (2020) and his B.S. in information and communications technologies (2016).

In his free time, Robert enjoys hiking, travelling, and going to concerts.
