Sidharth Gupta

Sidharth Gupta is a 2021 research intern in the Applied Sciences Group (ASG) at Microsoft, where he is working on perceptual speech quality improvements.

He has been a Ph.D. candidate in electrical and computer engineering at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign since 2017, where he works on developing machine learning and signal processing methods for solving image-reconstruction problems.  He has been particularly interested in imaging through scattering media, optical computing, and phase-retrieval problems.

Sidharth received his B.A. and M.Eng. degrees from the University of Cambridge, Cambridge, U.K., in 2014.  Between Cambridge and Illinois, he was at Samsung Research in Seoul, South Korea, and in the summer of 2019 he was a research intern at IBM Research in Yorktown Heights, New York.

He enjoys running and road cycling.  He also watches and reads about a variety of sports.
